基本解释亦作“惨淡经营”。①原指作画前先用浅淡颜色勾勒轮廓，苦心构思，经营位置。南朝齐谢赫《古画品录》以经营位置为绘画六法之一。②引申指苦心谋划并从事某项事情。唐·杜甫《丹青引赠曹将军霸》：“诏谓将军指绢素，意匠惨淡经营中。”
