礼贤下士的成语故事

拼音lǐ xián xià shì

基本解释礼：以礼相待；对待有礼貌；贤：指贤士；有美德、有才能的人；下：谦居于别人之下；以示对人尊敬；士：旧指有知识学问的人。对贤者以礼相待；对学者非常尊敬。旧时形容封建君主或官员尊敬和　　重视人才。

礼贤下士的典故

唐朝时期，李勉从地方官升到宰相，他从不妄自尊大，待人非常诚恳，有礼貌。他发现县尉为人正直很能干就提拔他为南郑县令。他发现立巡、张参很有才干，就请他们出来做官，不久他们去世，李勉特别怀念他们，人们称他为礼贤下士的典范。
