白头如新的成语故事

拼音bái tóu rú xīn

基本解释白头：头发白了；引申为时间久长；新：新交。从相识至头发白了；还同新交的朋友一样。意谓相知不深。常与“倾盖如故”搭配使用。

出处西汉 司马迁《史记 鲁仲连邹阳列传》：“谚曰：‘有白头如新，倾盖如故。’何则？知与不知也。”

白头如新的典故

西汉时期，邹阳有一次因为受人诬陷，被梁孝王关进监牢，准备处死。邹阳十分激愤，他在狱中给梁孝王写了一封信，信中列举事实说明：“待人真诚就不会被人怀疑，纯粹是一句空话。”

他写道：“荆轲冒死为燕太子丹去行刺秦始皇，可是太子丹还一度怀疑他胆小畏惧，不敢立即出发。卞和将宝玉献给楚王，可是楚王硬说他犯了欺君之罪，下令砍掉他的脚。李斯尽力辅助秦始皇执政，使秦国富强，结果被秦二世处死。所以谚语说：‘有白头如新，倾盖如故。’双方互不了解，即使交往一辈子，头发都白了，也还是像刚认识时一样；真正相互了解，即使是初交，也会像老朋友一样。”

梁孝王读了邹阳的信后，很受感动，立即把他释放，并做为贵宾接待。
