刘昂霄（1186～1223）字景玄，别字季房，陵川人。举进士不中，以荫补官，调监庆阳晕器库，不就，遂隐居洛西永宁山水间。元光二年六月病卒，年三十八。昂霄博学能文，六经百，世谱、官制、地理与兵家成败等，无所不窥。为文渊绵致密，平易而有奇趣。善谈辩，人有发其端者，徵难开示，初不置虑，穷探源委，解析脉络，旁贯径出，不可窥测，四座耸听，噤不得语。尝从李纯甫游，又与雷渊、辛愿、麻革、元好问友善。
