明广东香山人，字龙友，号家冈。万历四十七年进士。官少詹事。崇祯六年擢礼部尚书，旋入阁，与首辅温体仁不协，罢去。南明隆武帝召为内阁首辅。闽疆既失，赴广州，永历帝以原官召之，引疾辞去。有《宝纶阁集》。
