庐陵赵孝子，四岁父行贾。一去三十年，家惟大母母。

再拜别阿母，行行至京师。自念不见父，儿死无归时。
乃有曾长者，往昔与父善。言汝父死处，滨州利津县。
徒跣二千里，薄言至利津。朱琪张文辈，一一陈所因。
死以某年月，葬以某木棺。姓名某所题，近在城南端。
城南冢累累，翳然榛莽中。极目千万冢，谁能识其踪。
行哭七日馀，欲死不得所。生者无由知，死者岂能语。
解发系马鞍，负之坟坟过。吾父傥有知，发解鞍自堕。
俄至一坟前，鞍堕发自解。开坟见前和，题字宛犹在。
既见父姓名，痛绝心始安。函骨陈野祭，禽鸟声为酸。
邻老四面来，惊叹未曾有。相帅报县官，县官骇之久。
即日上大府，大府咸异之。次第闻中朝，行子正南驰。
行子行且伤，哭踊如初丧。路遥山川阻，何时至故乡。
故乡既云至，葬祭无迟礼。母子永不离，万事若流水。
闻者尽称孝，见者皆感泣。期尔百世昌，望尔百禄集。
儿今一无愿，愿母长不老。岁岁父坟前，洒饭坟上草。

揭傒斯（1274～1344）元代著名文学家、书法家、史学家。字曼硕，号贞文，龙兴富州（今江西丰城杜市镇大屋场）人。家贫力学，大德年间出游湘汉。延佑初年由布衣荐授翰林国史院编修官，迁应奉翰林文字，前后三入翰林，官奎章阁授经郎、迁翰林待制，拜集贤学士，翰林侍讲学士阶中奉大夫，封豫章郡公，修辽、金、宋三史，为总裁官。《辽史》成，得寒疾卒于史馆，谥文安，著有《文安集》，为文简洁严整，为诗清婉丽密。善楷书、行、草，朝廷典册，多出其手。与虞集、杨载、范梈同为“元诗四大家”之一，又与虞集、柳贯、黄溍并称“儒林四杰。”
