春天就要结束了，天还是长长的难熬，牡丹又绽开了她的娇娆。罗帐高高地卷着，翠绿的绣帘垂地轻飘。我重读了旧时的书信，红粉脸上泪痕条条，你和我的相爱，我们相互知晓。
你不在我的眼前，我就像春燕空归旧巢，白白地空守佳节良宵。香炷的灰烬又落了，相思的无眠揉约了枕套。今夜的月光分外的亮，月光下只见花儿稀少。明月更惹起我对你的思念，愿这相思如月在你床前照耀。
注释
迟迟：日长而天暖。《诗经·豳风·七月》：“春日迟迟，采蘩祁祁。”朱熹注：“迟迟，日长而暄也。”
罗幌：罗绸制的帷幕。幌，帷幔。杜甫《月夜》：“何时倚虚幌，双照泪痕干。”
翠帘：绿色的帘幕。翠，一作“绣”。
红粉：这里指粉红的脸颊。
空归：空空归来。
负：辜负。
枕函：枕套子。欹：倾斜貌。
淡薄：稀疏，稀少。

三字令·春欲尽鉴赏
旧体诗、词大体上有齐言与长短句之别。但词中也有少数齐言者，这首词基本上一句一意，句子间不免省略叙写与过渡的词语，出现若干空白。这就需要比勘揣摹，发挥联想，方能对词意有充分的体味。
此词的题材是最常见的暮春思妇之闺怨。但用《三字令》这一特殊词调，在表现上显得格外别致。
“春欲尽，日迟迟，牡丹时。”三句，是说暮春的白昼一日长似一日，正是牡丹花开的时候。遣词上容易使读者联想到《诗经·豳风·七月》“春日迟迟”，和白居易“共道牡丹时，相随买花去。”（《买花》）等诗句。然而此词的女主人公在这样绵长的春日，却无心参加赏花士女之行列，独自闷闷在家。“罗幌卷，翠帘垂。”就表现出这样的意态，同时词意就自然由外景描写转入闺房之内。一“卷”一“垂”，又正好暗示女主人公的内心矛盾。她深锁春光而犯愁，原来她正看这一封信——彩笺书，流着泪。从“两心知”一句看，这信与其是她自己写就的情书，无宁看作是远方寄来的尺素。否则，便应是“忆君君不知”了。然而，书来正意味着人不来。那人一去或许经年，须知“红粉”楼中正计日。
过片紧承此意，“人不在”三字，形容女子的孤单；“燕空归”，似乎暗示来信徒增幽怨，又有以双飞燕反衬孤独处境之意。想必来信中有许多托词，但不能改变一个铁的事实：“负佳期”。想当初离别，必有盟誓“两心知”。而到今日，又苦留后约将人误。这里词语虽简单，怨思却甚深。“香烬落”，极见境之清寥；“枕函欹”，又极见人之无聊。此时心情，知之者其唯“枕函”乎！以下写景，又由室内推移室外，时间已由上片的白昼推移到夜晚。“月分明，花澹薄”，这是花好月圆之夜。花的“澹薄”是沐浴月光之故。但这花好月圆，却不能慰藉孤栖者的愁怀，反而徒增感伤。以景写哀，倍增其哀。同一美好之花、月，分形以“澹薄”、“分明”的对比词语，拨换字面，颇增情致。
这词在歌筳演唱该是很富情味的。它出句短促而整齐，断而不见、乱，真有明珠走盘之清脆感、节奏感。
