出浴太真冰作影，捧心西子玉为魂。
咏白海棠鉴赏
贾宝玉的诗中间二联可以看作对薛宝钗、林黛玉的评价和态度。薛宝钗曾被贾宝玉比喻为杨贵妃，则“冰作影”正写出了服用“冷香丸”的“雪”姑娘其内心冷漠无情恰如“冰”人。“病如西子胜三分”的林黛玉以“玉为魂”，恰说明了宝玉心中的林妹妹纤瑕不染，分外清高。从宝玉对二人截然不同的两种态度中可以知道，宝玉心中只有黛玉才是志同道合的知心人。“晓风结愁”，“宿雨添泪”，表面上是在写海棠，实际却是写黛玉寄人篱下的愁苦心境，以至最终的芳华早逝。“独倚画栏”，“清砧怨笛”是写宝玉在黛玉死后的孤苦心境，是对这份凄美爱情的祭奠。
特别值得读者注意的是，这些诗多半都“寄兴寓情”，而作者擅用隐语，往往让诗与人物的情感，故事的背景，甚至是最终的归宿都密切相关。凡此种种，要使每一首诗都多方关合、左右逢源，必须经作者惨澹经营、匠心独运，才能臻于完美的境地。

曹雪芹，名霑，字梦阮，号雪芹，又号芹溪、芹圃。清代著名文学家，小说家。先祖为中原汉人，满洲正白旗包衣出身。素性放达，曾身杂优伶而被钥空房。爱好研究广泛：金石、诗书、绘画、园林、中医、织补、工艺、饮食等。他出身于一个“百年望族”的大官僚地主家庭，因家庭的衰败饱尝人世辛酸，后以坚韧不拔之毅力，历经多年艰辛创作出极具思想性、艺术性的伟大作品《红楼梦》。
