何人不爱牡丹花，占断城中好物华。
疑是洛川神女作，千娇万态破朝霞。

译文
有哪个人不喜欢牡丹花呢，盛开时独占了城中的美景。
莫不是洛水女神在那里翩舞吧，千娇万态如同灿烂的朝霞飞腾。
注释
牡丹：属毛茛科植物，又名木芍药、洛阳花，初夏 开花，单生，大朵，一般有 红、白、紫三色。
占断：占绝。独占的意思。
好物华：美好的景物。
洛川神女，即“洛神”。三国魏曹植作有《洛神赋》。传说宓（伏）羲之女，名宓妃，溺洛水而死，遂为洛水女神。洛川：洛水。（见《文选》卷十九《洛神赋》注）。
破：突破，超出、胜过的意思。

牡丹创作背景
徐凝，约813年前后在世，与施肩吾、白居易、元稹友善，方干曾师事之长庆三年，尝于杭州开元寺题牡丹诗，以“千古长如白练飞，一条界破青山色”之句，为白所赏，被白举荐。唐文宗大和五至七年（831--833年）间曾游洛阳，与白居易等相唱和，此时疑为此间所做。
