瑶草碧，柳芽黄。载将离恨过潇湘。请君看取东流水，方识人间别意长。
鹧鸪天·惜别鉴赏
离愁别恨，也是一个亘古常新的主题。但在写法上却各有不同，因而词的艺术感染力也就各异。严仁的这首词，以借景抒情取胜。
“一曲危弦断客肠”。写楼上别筵情景：宴席将散，一曲哀弦，愁肠欲断。万种愁情，借琴曲传出，令人魄荡魂销。首句便给通篇定下了基调，接着，作者又将笔对准到河桥附近的帆船上：人已进船，船舵和桅、“一转”，包含几许离愁别恨！这一句由将别而即别，词意推进一层，惜别的气氛更为浓厚。“江心”句由即别转到方别。帆随云动，写出了似为云所“带”的主观感觉。“楼上”一句，从对方着笔，终于拈出一个“泪”字来，把抒情气氛推上了高峰。
以上两句互为对偶，各写一方，将惜别之情，写得深挚感人。
下片直接抒写离情别意。头两句仍为写景。碧草芳美，岸柳才芽，青春作别，倍觉魂销。正是“绿杨芳草几时休，泪眼愁肠先已断”！两句以美好的春景，反衬惜别之情。“载将”一句将看不见、摸不着的“离恨”写得具体而有分量。结拍二句改设问为肯定语气，是全词一气写分别至此必然的感情蕴积。以悠悠不尽的东流江水，喻绵绵不断的离别愁情，使主题进一步深化，令人回味不绝。
作者在上片借景抒情，层次分明，步步推进，虽不点破，却蕴蓄着浓厚的惜别之情，是融情于景的典范。下片惜别之情滔滔而出，亲切可感，表现出作者相当高的艺术水准。

严仁（约公元1200年前后在世）字次山，号樵溪，邵武（今属福建）人。生卒年均不详，约宋宁宗庆元末前后在世。好古博雅。杨巨源诛吴曦，安丙惎而杀之，仁为作长愤歌，为时传诵。与同族严羽、严参齐名，人称“三严”。仁工词，有《清江欸乃集》不传，《文献通考》行于世。存词30首。
