沿着河岸依依行走，河边的杨柳低垂着像酒曲那样细嫩的长条，这不禁勾起了我这个将行之人的依依不舍之意，于是我停下马来，请送行的您帮我折一枝杨柳吧。
只有春风最懂得珍惜，仍然多情地向我手中已经离开树干的杨柳枝吹拂。
注释
和练秀才杨柳：诗题一作“折杨柳”，乐府歌曲，属横吹曲。
曲尘丝：指色如酒曲般细嫩的柳叶。尘：一作“烟”。
向：一作“肯”。
折杨柳鉴赏
折柳赠别的风俗始于汉人而盛于唐人。《三辅黄图》载，汉人送客至灞桥，往往折柳赠别。传为李白所作的《忆秦娥·箫声咽》“年年柳色，灞陵伤别”，即指此事。这首诗虽未指明地点，从诗意看，写的大概也是灞陵折柳赠别的事。
诗的开头两句在读者面前展现了这样的场景：初春，水边（可能指长安灞水之畔）的杨柳，低垂着像酒曲那样微黄的长条。一对离人将要在这里分手，行者驻马，伸手接过送者刚折下的柳条，说一声：“烦君折一枝！”此情此景，俨然是一幅“灞陵送别图”。
末两句“惟有春风最相惜，殷勤更向手中吹”，就语气看，似乎是行者代手中的柳枝立言。在柳枝看来，此时此地，万物之中只有春风最相爱惜，虽是被折下，握在行人手中，春风还是殷勤地吹拂着，可谓深情款款。柳枝被折下来，离开了根本，犹如行人将别。所以行者借折柳自喻，而将送行者比作春风。这层意思正是“烦君折一枝”所表现的感情之情的深化和发展。诗人巧妙地以春风和柳枝的关系来比喻送者和行者的关系，生动贴切，新颖别致。
这首诗是从行者的角度来写，在行者眼里看来，春风吹柳似有“相惜”之意与“殷勤”之态，仿佛就是前来送行的友人。这是一种十分动情的联想和幻觉，行者把自己的感情渗透到物象之中，本来是无情的东西，看去也变得有情了。这种化无情之物为有情之物的手法，常用于中国古典诗歌中，如唐元稹《第三岁日咏春风凭杨员外寄长安柳》云“三日春风已有情，拂人头面稍怜轻。”宋刘攽《新晴》诗曰：“惟有南风旧相识，偷开门户又翻书。”都是移情于物，中国古代文学评论称为“物色带情”（《文镜秘府论·南·论文意》）。这不是一般的拟人化，不是使物的自然形态服从人的主观精神，成了人的象征，而是让人的主观感情移入物的自然形态，保持物的客观形象，达到物我同一的境地。

唐代诗人。字景山，后改名巨济。河中（治所今山西永济）人。贞元五年(789)进士。初为张弘靖从事，由秘书郎擢太常博士，迁虞部员外郎。出为凤翔少尹，复召授国子司业。长庆四年(824)，辞官退休，执政请以为河中少尹，食其禄终身。关于杨巨源生年，据方崧卿《韩集举正》考订。韩愈《送杨少尹序》作于长庆四年（824），序中述及杨有“年满七十”、“去归其乡”语。由此推断，杨当生于755年，卒年不详。
