译文
在这寂寞的旅店中有谁来看望慰问，只有一盏冷清的孤灯与人相伴相亲。
今夜是一年中的最后一个夜晚，我还在万里之外作客飘零未能回转家门。
回首前尘竟是一事无成，令人感到悲凉伤心；孤独的我只有苦笑与酸辛。
愁苦使我容颜变老，白发爬满双鬓，在一片叹息声中又迎来了一个新春。
注释
除夜：除夕之夜。石头驿：在今江西省新建县赣江西岸。《全唐诗》题下注曰：“一作石桥馆”。
寥落：稀少，冷落。此处有孤独、寂寞之意。
支离：即分散。《全唐诗》校：“一作羁离”。
愁颜与衰鬓：《全唐诗》校：“一作衰颜与愁鬓”。
又：《全唐诗》校：“一作去”。

除夜宿石头驿创作背景
此诗当作于诗人晚年任抚州（今属江西）刺史时期。这时他正寄寓石头驿，可能要取道长江东归故乡金坛（今属江苏）。

戴叔伦(732—789)，唐代诗人，字幼公（一作次公），润州金坛(今属江苏)人。年轻时师事萧颖士。曾任新城令、东阳令、抚州刺史、容管经略使。晚年上表自请为道士。其诗多表现隐逸生活和闲适情调，但《女耕田行》、《屯田词》等篇也反映了人民生活的艰苦。论诗主张“诗家之景，如蓝田日暖，良玉生烟，可望而不可置于眉睫之前”。其诗体裁皆有所涉猎。
