风卷寒云暮雪晴，江烟洗尽柳条轻。
檐前数片无人扫，又得书窗一夜明。
霁雪鉴赏
首句点出残雪产生的背景。
“风卷寒云”既是雪后天晴的征兆，又是次句“江烟洗尽柳条轻”的基础。大风卷走寒云，也将江面上的云烟雾气一扫而空，又吹落了柳枝上的积雪，使柳枝轻摆。雪晴在天“暮”之时，为结句“一夜明”作了极好的铺垫。
次句意境清朗，容量很大。雪后天晴，烟云荡尽，江天高朗明净，江边柳条轻盈，随风婀娜摆动。“洗”字，“轻”字，用得极为准确。原来江面上霰雪纷纷，白雾蒸腾；现在一下廓清，纤尘不染，仿佛洗过的一般。原来柳枝低垂，没精打彩，不胜积雪之重压；如今一旦卸下重负，感到特别轻松，显得特别轻盈。如此一来，雪的世界当然已不复存在，只留下一些残余的踪迹了。这么纷繁的意象，仅用了七个字，真是精炼至极。
三句转笔蓄势。目光由远处转向近处，范围从整个江郊转向韩舍人的檐前，景象从壮阔转向细微。“数片”说明雪之残存不多，故只得“一夜明”；“无人扫”突出环境之幽雅清静，故能映雪夜读。如此蓄足笔势，结句的出现便如顺水之舟了。结句“又得书窗一夜明”仍紧扣住“残雪”写想象中之虚景。说明雪还没有融尽，檐前还保留一点洁白的残雪，想象着它的反光映照在书窗上，显得环境格外清幽，可以像晋代孙康那样映雪夜读。但可惜只得一夜享受，明天残雪一化，雪的踪迹全无，就不能再有这种享受了。表达对残雪充满无限喜悦留恋的心情。据《尚友录》载：“晋孙康，京兆人。性敏好学，家贫无油，于冬月尝映雪读书。”此句暗用其事，还兼有赞美韩舍人刻苦好读之意。如此用典，咸淡自知，却了无痕迹，真是进入了化境。

戎昱，(744～800)唐代诗人。荆州（今湖北江陵）人，郡望扶风（今属陕西）。少年举进士落第，游名都山川，后中进士。宝应元年(762)，从滑州、洛阳西行，经华阴，遇见王季友，同赋《苦哉行》。大历二年(767)秋回故乡，在荆南节度使卫伯玉幕府中任从事。后流寓湖南，为潭州刺史崔瓘、桂州刺史李昌巙幕僚。建中三年(782)居长安，任侍御史。翌年贬为辰州刺史。后又任虔州刺史。晚年在湖南零陵任职，流寓桂州而终。中唐前期比较注重反映现实的诗人之一。名作《苦哉行》写战争给人民带来灾难。羁旅游宦、感伤身世的作品以《桂州腊夜》较有名。
