张嗣纲，字效忠。清远人。少怀大志，及长，闭户潜修，于经史外，更习《六韬》《三略》。明神宗万历十六年（一五八八）、二十二年（一五九四）、二十五年（一五九七）连中三榜武魁。按例，官拜新安南头参将，年八十有五而卒。有《戈馀诗草》二卷。事见民国《清远县志》卷一〇。
