昔我来颍州，系马西湖滨。颍州绝褊小，所爱民心淳。
中间入南国，八载寄寿春。去颍无十舍，土风已顽群。
从兹重所处，不敢择要津。迁徙虽未固，常愿为颍民。
今者伯氏来，得官邑相邻。民愚少斗讼，所讯由饥贫。
吏戆不识字，况复能舞文。惟有租与贷，未免劳躬亲。
而我无官事，独得颐精神。日高偃空房，睡足方欠伸。
日暮近灯烛，诵书忘冠巾。懒来起复坐，自在如閒云。
忆昨游京师，交友千百群。贤否未可辨，正直惟仲纯。
仲纯年始壮，气概雄三军。文章不待学，下笔如千钧。
饮酒或一醉，万物如埃尘。近过颍州见，颜色弥清醇。
兄弟亦相遇，磊落皆奇人。邀我上书堂，为我拂素茵。
呼奴正大案，食饮罗甘辛。论议不惜口，彼此从天真。
夜川月色黑，笑语犹相闻。丈夫各有志，大者思经纶。
其志苟未得，不如安其身。何时买锄犁，耕凿颍水垠。

毕仲游，郑州管城（今河南郑州）人。宋宰相毕士安曾孙。初以父荫补宗正寺太庙斋郎，熙宁三年与兄毕仲衍同举进士。后又任集贤校理，权太常博士等。其历仕神宗、哲宗、徽宗三朝，为官机敏干练、清廉独慎，颇有吏才。但因受党争牵连，仕途不坦，坎坷一生。与司马光、苏轼等多有交游，工于诗文，其文章精丽、雄伟博辩，议论时政切中时弊。著有《西台集》五十卷，已佚，清四库馆臣据《永乐大典》辑为二十卷。
