释元妙（一一一一～一一六四），号痴禅，俗姓王，双溪东阳（今属浙江）人。年十二出家，依寂室于国清。辞谒西禅净禅师，诏补灵隐，擢为第一座。孝宗隆兴元年（一一六三），因足疾退居槜李李氏庵，二年卒，年五十四。为青原下十五世，瑞岩寂室慧光禅师法嗣。《嘉泰普灯录》卷一七、《五灯会元》卷一六有传。今录诗四首。
