译文
胡地寒风裹挟着北方的瑞雪吹越龙山，落到帝都。
皑皑的白雪静静地落积在高台之上，风吹过后，雪花在殿前空中飘动飞舞。
然而洁白的雪啊，在春天的阳光下也无处躲避。
春天本是桃李争研斗艳之时，哪有冰清玉洁的白雪容身之处呢？
注释
龙山：即逴龙山，古代传说中北方的一座冰山。
龙山，即逴龙山，因地处极北，天气严寒。鲍照有“胡风吹朔雪，千里度龙山”之句。后遂用为咏雪之典。
君：国君。
瑶台：指巍峨而洁白的宫殿。美玉砌的楼台。亦泛指雕饰华丽的楼台。
兹：这个。
晨：清晨。
学刘公干体五首·其三鉴赏
该诗以北国皎洁的冬雪自喻。全诗八句，四句为一节，而一节中的每两句各表达一个完整的意思。从结构看，简括而谨严，没有枝蔓，没有铺排，十分凝炼。诗意也极醒豁，一望可知，毫无隐曲；然而层次井然，转折分明。虽属摹仿前人，在鲍照诗集中却是精心刻意之作。
开头两句写远在北方的雪被胡地寒风吹越龙山（即逴龙山，古代传说中北方的一座冰山），落到帝都所在。三四两句写雪的形象美观动人，“集君瑶台上”写静止的雪，“飞舞两楹前”写动荡的雪，笔意虽平淡朴实，却把雪的丰姿写得十分具体。“君”即国君，“瑶台”字面用屈原《离骚》“望瑶台之偃蹇兮”，指巍峨而洁白的宫殿。试想，皑皑的白雪静静地落积在高台之上，自然很壮观。《文选》李善注引郑玄《礼记》注云:“两楹之间，人君听治正坐之处。”可见“两楹前”即皇帝的正殿之前。雪花在殿前空中飘动飞舞，景象也很美。这两句虽说是景语，实涵“比”的成分。说详下。
夫用雪自喻，较易理解。其洁白晶莹，正象GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人品的高尚纯洁。北国多雪，本属自然现象；但作者为什么要写它从阴寒幽僻的朔漠吹到帝王的殿堂之上呢？这就隐寓着作者本人的身世之感。鲍照出身于微贱的寒门，想在朝廷上占一席之地是很不容易的；正如雪虽皎洁却来自遥远的荒漠，不可能轻易进入帝王所居之地。所以作者于此诗的第三、四句，特意把下雪的场面安排在以帝王宫殿为背景的地方，这实际上寄托了鲍照希望跻身朝廷、与豪门权贵分享政权的理想，当然其中也不无追名逐势往上爬的庸俗成分。但读者从诗人以雪自喻这一点来体会，至少会感到鲍照虽“心存魏阙”，却还没有低声下气到对权贵豪门摧眉折腰的地步。
然而这第一节只是表达了作者的主观愿望。下面四句突然一个转折，跌入了另一境界。即春日一旦来临，在艳阳天气里，只允许桃李争妍斗胜；而这时的雪，纵使高洁得一无尘滓，也没有容身之地了。此诗好就好在:“艳阳天”和“桃李妍”，原是春意盎然的景象，在一般人心目中，它应该属于值得肯定的良辰美景的范畴；然而作者却把它当作高洁无滓的白雪的对立面。于是这明媚春光。桃李缤纷的场景一下子便成为名利场中趋炎附势的象征，使读者在强烈的对比下竟对绚丽妍美的“艳阳天”产生了庸俗尘下之感。这就是诗人不同凡响的大手笔了。正由于这样的写法，才更加显出豪门权贵的炙手可热，也自然体会到寒士阶层命运的可悲和身世的凄凉。
从这首诗可以看出，鲍照之学刘桢，乃是形神兼备地学，学得有血肉、有筋骨。诗中所体现的抒情主人公形象仍是刘宋时代的鲍照而非建安时代的刘桢。这种摹仿与学习，实际上是由继承而求得发展，而不是照葫芦画瓢的每况愈下。悟彻此理，始可与言诗也已。

鲍照（约415年～466年）南朝宋文学家，与颜延之、谢灵运合称“元嘉三大家”。字明远，汉族，祖籍东海（治所在今山东郯城西南，辖区包括今江苏涟水，久居建康（今南京）。家世贫贱，临海王刘子顼镇荆州时，任前军参军。刘子顼作乱，照为乱兵所杀。他长于乐府诗，其七言诗对唐代诗歌的发展起了很重要的作用。有《鲍参军集》。
