近现代：鲁迅
灵台无计逃神矢，风雨如磐暗故园。
译文：我的心无法逃避爱神射来的神箭，我炽爱着仍遭受侵略和封建压迫的家园。
注释：灵台：指心，古人认为心有灵台，能容纳各种智慧。神矢：爱神之箭。作者鲁迅在这里，是把中了爱神丘比特的神箭比喻为自己对祖国对人民的热爱和对当时帝国主义的憎恨感情。风雨如磐：风雨，在这里指帝国主义的侵略和封建主义的统治。磐，扁而厚的大石。风雨如磐，比喻国家和民族灾难的深重。故园：故国、祖国。
寄意寒星荃不察，我以我血荐轩辕。
译文：这份情感寄托给天上的星星却没有人明了，我誓将我的一腔热血报效我的祖国。
注释：寄意寒星：是说作者当时远在国外，想把自己一片爱国赤诚寄托天上的寒星，让它代为转达于祖国人民。荃，香草名，古时比喻国君，这里借喻祖国人民。不察，不理解。荐：奉献。轩辕：即黄帝，是古代传说中的氏族帮落酋长。

鲁迅（1881年9月25日－1936年10月19日），原名周樟寿，后改名周树人，字豫山，后改豫才浙江绍兴人。著名文学家、思想家，五四新文化运动的重要参与者，中国现代文学的奠基人。鲁迅一生在文学创作、文学批评、思想研究、文学史研究、翻译、美术理论引进、基础科学介绍和古籍校勘与研究等多个领域具有重大贡献。他对于五四运动以后的中国社会思想文化发展具有重大影响，蜚声世界文坛，尤其在韩国、日本思想文化领域有极其重要的地位和影响，被誉为“二十世纪东亚文化地图上占最大领土的作家”。
